Supported Employment
Employment Coordinators work with the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation to help candidates find jobs in the community based on their skills and interests. Harbor House also provides on-the-job training and educational services to help participants further their skills for work force.
The Supported Employment department at Harbor House works one-on-one with individuals that have disabilities, and matches them with meaningful employment based on their character traits, interest and abilities. Harbor House also offers on-site job coaching for clients based on their specific needs. Examples of positions include teachers, dishwashers, warehouse workers, administrative assistants, receptionists, nurses, bakers, bus drivers, paralegals and many more! Harbor House works with many businesses within the Louisville community to help find the best fit for the businesses and the individuals we serve.
These employers include UPS, Best Buy Warehouse, Kroger, Save-A-Lot, Bearno’s Pizza, Hikes Point Day Care, Target, Security First, Sondergeld Plumbing, Sodexo, GCA, Stoll Keenon Ogden’, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Republic Parking, Walgreens, Security First, that’s just to name a few! Supported employment not only enhances the lives of adults with disabilities, but the community as a whole.
