Harbor House is built on the principle of improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, and 2022 marked 30 years of providing meaningful programs in the community. Now, Harbor House is expanding by offering services that target an intergenerational community by enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and children with a multitude of innovative services and programs that will afford opportunities for each of the three groups.

Just imagine a place where caregivers can get support and services for every person in their family. One place where you can bring your family members that need a day program and care – a fun and enriching environment with a multitude of services and activities. All in one place. 2023 will make this dream a reality.

Right now, we serve over 100 participants daily, serving 26 zip codes. In the new building we will be able to serve 400 plus daily & 30 plus zip codes across Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, & Shelby Counties.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Direct Service Professional

  • Provide supervision of participants in all areas of the agency such as the patio and assigned community rooms.
  • Assist in providing regularly scheduled activities in a non-residential setting that are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, build positive social behaviors and interpersonal competence.
  • Offer identified opportunities that enable the participants to develop the ability to communicate effectively with others, such as supervisors, co-workers, customers, family and friends.

Community Living Specialist

The Community Living Specialist (CLS) staff are responsible for the care, training, development, safety and supervision of the participants of Harbor House services and programs. The support and training empowers the participant to be active in the community on a routine basis, to hold membership in clubs, church groups, other fraternal or charitable organizations through meaningful activities and volunteer programs.

This position will primarily be Monday – Friday, however, there could be opportunity for weekend hours, if desired.

CLS is responsible for taking participants out into the community to work on goals and achievements.

This position requires a clean driving record as well as dependable means for transportation in own vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed.
